Joining The Music and Psyche Network
Membership brings, at present,
the following benefits:
- Belonging to a growing network of like-minded
people working in individual and collective ways to encourage musicians and audiences into
the understanding that music is much more than 'mere' entertainment.
- Journal issues free as they appear. [Like all such
new publications, it is growing slowly. At present we anticipate Issue 4 to appear around
the turn of the year.]
- An annual one day participatory event free to
members, all others welcome at a small fee. So far this has been in London (as reasonably
central to the membership), and has been a facilitated improvisation
event, though this need not always be so — see the On-line Discussion Group
archives for last May for comments on this year's.
- Other events as they are set up. We are a
small but growing group. Thus events are dependent on a small group of (busy) people. Support for
our mission is much appreciated, by membership and contributions of all
kinds.
If you want to set up an event and would appreciate help and/or support,
contact us.
Membership funds provide a resource to cushion events, thus helping to
keep costs down, and helps to subsidise the Journal, which does not yet pay
its way.
Membership is £15 annually.
[People outside the British Isles
are very welcome to join, but will
understand that we are at present a small organisation, so are unable to
do
more than send copies of the Journal as they appear (irregularly).
We hope
that you will set up satellite organisations in your own countries,
according to our principles. A Mission Statement can be sent by e-mail.
Payment must be in Sterling, please. Enquire by e-mail
to the Membership Secretary.]
